Saying goodbye

I'm now back in Bjärred with my parents after four lovely days in Strömstad with Emma, Öystein, William and Linnéa.  Thanks! I won't see them again until Christmas and it's sad and difficult to say goodbye.  On the bright side, time tends to fly so 5 months should go fast...and I have some beautiful memories from this summer.

Strömstad

I've spent the last few days in Strömstad on the west coast of Sweden with Emma and her family.  Öystein's mum Elisabeth has a summer house here and we're enjoying the peace and quiet and beautiful surroundings.  We've been going to the beach, playing in the yard and barbecuing but I think the highlight so far (at least for William) was the visit to the local fire station. We drive pass every time we're going to the shop or in to the city, so today on our way back, we called in and asked for a tour. William loves everything to do with fire engines and ambulances so it seemed like a good idea.  A lovely woman showed us around, gave William a little fire hat and some books and we even got to climb up into one of the fire trucks.  It was a bit too scary for William but mum and auntie Johanna took the chance...

Headed Home...

Well folks i am finally on my way home. It started off good, no problems at work and no emergency patients to hold me up. Got the 6:30 train only to find out they were morning behind schedule and i grabbed the wrong one. I went 45mins the wrong way (north) towards Brisbane before figuring out that the train i was supposed to catch was late and the one before it came during this time. Finally got to Sydney at 12:30 last night and got 5 hours sleep before getting to the airport. I will be home in 24 hours and am just starting toget excited..a little! Cant wait to see my family.
The Sketchy 70's intercity Aussie transit system, loads of drunks and questionable people on at night.
I am happy to find one of the 12 carriages without anyone and better yet without the sweet smell of urine.

Jo in case you forgot what it looks like

Just a few picks i have taken over the past week to show you what is going on in Oz Jo.

Foggy drive with QW to work in the morning, gets really thick especially when you get through the nature reserve.
The Coal port is still running, in fact i think it has picked up during the winter months.

Went to the Newcastle Knights game, i think it is growing on me even though it is no where near as exciting as Rugby Union.

View from my seat in the nose bleeds, around 28000 folks. Good game as the Knights beat up on the Sydney Roosters.

Coffee this morning at Silo. Watched a pilot land on the water and grab a cup of coffee then head back out, now thats how you get a morning coffee!

Weird morning sunrise. Couldnt sleep so I was up to catch the view.

Nearly completed museum outside our apartment. Looking forward to dumping the losers at the office for awhile and heading home....

Best friends, dear family and beautful roses

It's busy days over here with friends and family around and I'm not complaining!  Here are some pictures from the last few days.

Dinner in Malmö with my dearest friends

William loves the bus so we took it to the library even though it's only a ten minute walk from the house. So exiting for a little guy!
It's more fun pushing the stroller than sitting in it (and why walk when you can run?!)
After talking at two little girls at the library for a couple of minutes who didn't have much interest, he went back to his own little table ( with grandma and grandpa)

Always on the go, this time in Ystad visiting great grandma Elisabeth

 Ystad Marina
Beautiful dinner in grandma's conservatory, no one can cook like her!

Beautiful old Ystad with amazing roses literally growing out of the side walk
