Jag längtar...

Two more days in Australia and then I'm off to Sweden for a visit! I'm so looking forward to it!

I miss my family and friends so much and it's been very tough to be far away for so long.  I can't wait to meet the new babies that have arrived since I left, it's been a few! My beautiful little niece Linnea is over two months already and I'm longing to meet her, and of course to play and cuddle with my little man William who has grown up so fast...  What I'm not looking forward to however, is to leave my big man behind... I'm sure we'll manage, but almost two months apart is a long time.

Anyway, this is my last night in Newcastle for a while.  Wyatt's colleague Quintin and his girlfriend Sal is coming over for dinner tonight, and then tomorrow we're off to Sydney for an extra day in the city before my flight on Monday night.

Before I sign out for today, I would like to say Happy Birthday to my dear sister Emma who's 33 today! Grattis fina syster! Hoppas du får en fin dag! Kramar från oss.

A day at sea

We've been talking about renting a boat for quite a while, and last weekend we finally got our act together, packed a picnic and set out to Nelson Bay.  We rented a little boat for 4 hours.  We did some fishing, but the only thing we got was a little snapper that was too small to keep... It didn't really matter though since we had a lovely day at sea. No wind and mostly sunny made for a perfect day!

High Tide...

Here's some pictures from a walk on Newcastle Beach a week ago.  We're heading for winter so the weather is getting a bit cooler and the sea a bit more rough.  It even managed to wash up this gigantic fish on shore... Note the small fish next to it, that's more like the size we normally catch!

This is how the outdoor baths fill up everyday with fresh water during the high tide....

The Plant Assasin...

As we've mentioned earlier Wyatt and I have been doing some gardening.  We started out about 3 or 4 months ago, planting some seeds on the balcony.  I was probably the driving force at the start, but a couple of months into it, Wyatt has definitely taking over, going out to his plants first thing when he comes back from work, watering and talking to them...His big pride has been his pepper plant.  It struggled at the start but was doing really well and even had some tiny pepper fruits showing, until.... I dropped it and smashed it on the floor...

It was a beautiful Sunday morning and the sun was shining for a change.  It felt like summer was back so we decided to have breakfast on the balcony.  The plants were all on the table so I tried to lift a plastic tray with two heavy porcelain pots.  That was not a good idea.  Before I knew it Wyatt's beloved pepper plant was crushed on the floor and Wyatt was very very sad... whoops.

 Du tycker inte om mig

I feel really bad but have a feeling Wyatt will remember this for quite a while...sorry my love.

Sloppy bloggers...

We've been a bit sloppy recently when it comes to updating the blog, so here's quite a few pictures from our recent week...

Since the weather has been so good lately with almost 20 above and clear skies, we decided to give horse riding a second go.  This time on the magnificent beach and sand dunes at Birubi Beach, and with a much smaller group.  I had the big Clydesdale this time around and Wyatt had a smaller, pretty stubborn horse...   It was a lot of fun, we even got to canter and Wyatt didn't fall off, well done! I'm slowly but surely sucking him into our new hobby...

The beach at Anna Bay stretches for 32 km, and despite the nice company I was pretty tempted to break away from the group and just take off at full gallop...Doesn't it look extremely tempting?!

The weather definitely called for a bbq with some hot dogs and beer after!

Our friend Christoph left Newcastle last weekend to go back to Austria, so we had him over for a few drinks and dinner last week.
I think that's all for now, but we'll be back soon with some more updates and pictures. Have a good week!

Grattis William!

This post is a day late since we had some problem signing in to our blog all day yesterday.

My beautiful little nephew turned two yesterday, he's growing up so fast and is such a happy and smart little guy! I couldn't be any prouder to be his aunt!

Happy Birthday William!

"Pasta to the Pesto" som italienarna i Andalo skulle ha sagt.

Visitors

We had a great, relaxed weekend with Eoin and Alexis.  We did some touring of Newcastle and Port Stephens, some fishing, a lot of walking and of course loads of talking, laughing, eating and drinking!
