Clowns!!

Our little friends the Larakeets have becme increasingly brave and cheeky. The are very posessive of the seeds we put out for all the birds and will even try to bite you if you stick your hand near the feeder. however this does not prevent them from helping themselves from food outside the feeder.

Other birds that want food but are too scared of the couple that hang out on our balcony.

Midnight Friends..

Over the last year we could hear these little fellas running around on our deck and on our roof. It was only recently while we have been watching the Olympics late at night that we have met two possums we have appropriately named Polly and Paddy. Research on the web allowed us to tell the difference between the two. Polly (below) is really grey and has a little pouch which as it turns out may have a little baby, we shall see in the next couple months. Paddy is larger and has brown on his shoulders and back, minus the pouch. They eat the bird seeds and after several attempts at trying different types of food, carrots, strawberries and tomatoes are the favorites.

Paddy caught red pawed raiding the seeds.

Manly

We try to explore a different part of Sydney everytime we go there, and this last weekend was spent in Manly.  Manly is a beautiful suburb north of Sydney with a nice beach, a beautful pedestrian streak with shops and restaurants and a nice wharf.  We had a nice relaxed weekend renting bicycles and cycling along the waterfront and up to North Head, a beautiful reserve/park.  The weather is finally a bit warmer and we got a hint of summer with 20 above!
