Queensland Easter long weekend

Very unfortunate for us, but this maybe the last little travelling we do without our little hitch-hiker.  As fall in upon us we headed up north to Queensland again for warmer weather and to visit a few friends. Our travels took us from the Gold Coast, to Byron Bay, and on to Brisbane.

The weekend starts off the way it should, Jo attracting stink bugs in her hair.

The weekend was extremely busy with no accommodation. We had to settle for a hole in the wall but it was alright because the beach was 10 feet from our door. The view of Gold Coast City in the Background.

A beautiful woman...

Byron Bay, considered an ideal spot for its bush and beach. Subsequently as it is highly sought after, it is also filled with Hippies and their hippy wares. Beads, bracelets, busking...ect A view from lighthouse rock.

Several kilometres of paradise...

The Fabled lighthouse

One of the main reasons for the trip was to catch up with our good friends Jarvis and Lauren.  They had moved up to QLD with work in the airforce. They also have one of the cutest 2 year olds Jayda.

Kuranda

Kuranda is a hippie village inland up the hills of the tropical rain forrest. Because this is a hippie village there was nothing but crappy tourist stores with crappy hand made hippie crap. Thus we took a hike around the national park.
View of Cairns to the south...

Pregnancy update

Just over 2 months to go now! We're getting very excited and can't wait to meet our little girl. I'm starting to feel pretty big and clumsy and find I don't have that much energy and we still have a bit to go...

I found a great use for my belly, a snack table:)

Moore Reef

The second day trip to the GBR was to Moore Reef. This time the weather wasnt as good due to some wind. This causes some small waves that Jo can attest to as interfering with her snorkel breathing apparatus. One of the highligthts for this reef is a resident giant blue Wrasse named "Wally." This fish likes to ambush an unsuspecting diver and cuddle and rub up against your body. This can cause concern if you are unaware...Sharks are around these parts.

No Scuba this time but a full 5 hours of snorkeling.
Has Johanna converted to Islam????
