Honeymoon in Italy Pompei

Out of Rome and into the driving fire. It must be said that the Italians are some of the worst drivers in the world and yet because they are all terrible at the same time nobody gets into an accident. With my trusty navigator we were able to drive 3 hours south to Anzio and on to the ancient and modern Pompei. Our hotel had a wonderful terrace view of the cause of ancient destruction, Mount Vesuvius. It was incredible to see this fairly large city frozen in time...
Driving in the city of rome in our gutless Fiat which can move up any inclines but is small enough to park anywhere.

                                   Short lunch break in Anzio...
View of Mount Vesuvius from our balcony, cheeze, wine and Olives.

Through the streets of the city

We were told to avoid any interaction with the feral dogs. Several were scattered throughout, sleeping and scavenging.
A large Penis marking the direction towards the whore house.

Some of the people who were caught in the eruption and died from the toxic gasses/heat

A beautiful city from start to finish, traces of the old art and frescos give you an idea of what it must have been like.
